11 months

We're nearly a big milestone in our family these days. Someone will be celebrating their first birthday in just a couple very short weeks.

She's getting so big, it just makes my heart break and soar, all at once. I am thrilled to see her grow each day, but sad for myself that I can't hold her in place to enjoy having a baby around for a little while longer. Caroline has learned to play peek-a-boo, and it's just the cutest thing you ever saw. When you ask her "Where is Caroline?" She knows that's the cue to put her hands on her head. She manages to cover her eyes about 80% of the time, but occasionally just puts her hands up by her temples. Still, I couldn't be more proud of how quick she seems to learn.

And, if that weren't enough, it looks like we might have teeth soon. I have a cranky little girl on my hands, that could fill a trough with her drool. And swim class?! Let me tell you about swim class. She shrieks with delight, with just a glimpse of the pool. She does nothing but smile wide and splash around in the water. I have a little water baby on my hands, let me tell you.

Plus, meal time is getting quite fun. We eat real table food, and Caroline is all but feeding herself. Whatever momma and dadda are eating - why that's exactly what she wants for dinner. Chicken, grapes, carrots - it's all fair game these days.

We are gearing up for a party soon, where I will undoubtedly cry with tears of joy and sadness. I have had such blessings this last year, it's hard to imagine that I deserve such a happy and wonderful child. This past year has been quite the adventure - and to think, last May 16th, she hadn't even arrived yet!
