November meals

>> November 3, 2011

Last month I lamented how I had been slackin' on the meal front and I was attempting to turn over a new leaf my planning out a month's worth of meals. I'd like to say I got this idea all on my own, but I sooo swiped it from another Shannon.

Well, I'm here to report that October's meals were a total success! I stuck to a defined grocery list (thus saving money). I stuck to a meal plan (thus no more "what should we eat?" nights). And we had plenty of left overs (thus no more lunches out - aaaand saving yet more money!!).

So with the wild success of October, it only made sense to plan out meals for November. I have a few "involved" meals planned for the weekends, so if you look at some of these recipes, don't think that I am a master juggler during the week!  But two days late, here's what November will look like:

3. Left overs (aka "Fend for Yourself")
4. Pizza night
7. Velvet Chicken (I didn't get around to this meal in October)
8. "Big salad" (i.e. whatever I have in my pantry that is "salad like")
10. Pizza!
11-13. Out of town, someone's turning 25! (...for the 6th time)
14. Veggies with Walnut Dressing (So awesome!)
16. Brandied Tomato Cream Soup (my favorite tomato soup recipe)
17. Southwest Chicken Salad
18. Left overs
19. Take out (we deserve it)
22. Pizza!
23-27. Road food, turkey, turkey and more turkey.  Gobble gobble.
28. Stuffed Peppers

Hopefully a full month of meals in November will go just as well as half a month did in October. Although, looking at some of the recipes I have selected, a few of them are slightly ambitious...maybe I am getting too confident in my meal prep? We'll see how it works out. Go big or go home, right? And if you want to check out Shannon's (the other Shannon, I don't talk about myself in the third person...all the time) November meal schedule, you can see that here. (She is much more realistic than I am when it comes to picking meals. I should probably take a cue from her. I will probably end up making PB and J more often than not. )

p.s. This is my 500th post. (Whoa.) and in late October, Project Shannon entered it's 3rd year. (Double whoa.) Thanks to all the readers who have been following along for the past two years!! Hugs all around. :)

I really need to start this. I just ate Spaghettios at 10am. It's bad.

Yes! So glad you're doing this too. Doesn't it just feed your little organization-lovin', list-lovin' heart?

Did you have the Velvet Chicken? Did you like? I made the crispy gnocchi last night. I dunno, the goat cheese/gnocchi combo made it very paste-like in my mouth. Tasty but pasty. Ha.
