Christmas gift list
>> November 7, 2011
Hi friends! Well, it's that time of the year, when I make my holiday wish list, I mean gift list. My annual itemized list of "must haves" for the holiday season. So without further adieu...
Coach, knit bow glove, $68
I love the colorful, yet feminine bow detail on these gloves. They would match a variety of different coats, or would spice up your basic black car coat. I manage to keep my gloves in good shape and don't have a problem loosing any, so these would be a great buy!
Frye, Celia Over the Knee Boot, $348
I love these boots, I can't tell you all the reasons why. I have been wanting a great tall boot for awhile now. Something classic, but unexpected. I think this boot with bow detail does the trick. It comes in 5 colors, all of which are totally fabulous - but I have my eye on the gray.
Ballard Designs, Waxed Linen Tote, $35
In my mind, this tote bag looks much more expensive than it really is. I mean, seriously? Less than $40!? Plus, the "waxed" finish will clean up much easier than cloth or canvas. A girlfriend owns this bag, and it's a really great size as your daily "schlepping" tote, or even a diaper bag alternative!
Etsy, Giclee Print "Gowns", $18
I am still searching for a bit more art to jazz up Caroline's bedroom. And as I have said before, I am having trouble finding things I really liked. But this giclee print by Janet Hill Studio would be perfect. It's a lovely balance of adult appropriate, little girl whimsy, with gorgeous colors and a bit of glamor. And Janet's Etsy page mentioned that she works out of Stratford, Ontario - which has a special place in my heart, since my grandparents own a home nearby! Not to mention I think the print divine. So even though it would be in Caroline's room, it's still kinda a gift for "me".
Stella and Dot, Jewelry set, $24 to $59
I love this necklace, brooch and earring "set" from Stella and Dot. I say it's a set, but really they just all go together. I think it's such a perfect preppy add to my wardrobe. And I love that I could wear the brooch pinned to a sweater or coat, or even pinned to the necklace for an extra bit of "bling". I received a S&D necklace for Christmas last year and I love it. Plus, I have been dying to add a bit of turquoise to my jewelry collection.
Tom's Shoes, Classic Red, $44
I think these shoes are super cool, but I also love how they help a great cause. Plus I hear they are nothing but comfortable! And to be honest, I can't shake the idea of mommy and daughter wearing the same shoes.
Watches, Timex and Fossil
I love my white birthday watch that Hubby thoughtfully purchased, but I think I need a few others in my rotation. Here are two more that I think are totally worth my time. (Har har.) First, I think the Timex "Weekender" is cool and casual, perfect for weekends - as the name suggests. And on the opposite end of the spectrum, I've had my eye on a gold watch. I know, I know. Sometimes, if done incorrectly, it looks a little rap star - but it can also look like a gorgeous piece of jewelry. This rose gold option by Fossil is gorgeous and thankfully a little less flashy.
Dresses, Asos, DVF, and C. Luce, prices vary
I've had my eye on a few dresses this year, here, here, here, here and here. I am totally into "midi length dresses" because they are perfect for work, and these few from Asos are super stylish. I have always wanted a classic DVF printed wrap dress. Ideally, I'd find a great vintage one, but this option looks so classic. I think every preppy-classic girl like myself should try to have one of these in her closet. And the dress from C. Luce is a great example of-the-moment-trend "color blocking", while still being priced reasonably. Between the above options, there are plenty of dresses for any price point and any figure.
Dansko, Professional Clogs, $125
I know, these clogs probably seem really silly and perhaps a bit out of place. But everyone I know owns a pair and they all swear by them. I think the patent leather makes them a bit more fancy too. Am I right? And, since I have three pairs of shoes on my list this year, maybe I subconsciously think I need to revamp my shoe closet?
"Love" Necklace, Willow Boutique
This necklace is a special order item from Willow Boutique that I first saw Erika wear on Urban Grace awhile back (so I don't even know if they still have it available). She had it engraved with "love" on one side and her daughter's initials on the other. I think this is absolutely lovely and such a great way to keep your family close to heart. It's a beautiful sentiment to wear a simple piece of jewelry as a reminder of those you love.
Alright, I think that's enough for one gift list! Happy Shopping! Read these posts for my Christmas lists last year and in 2009. For other gift ideas, click here.
