Nursery update, the fabric
>> April 15, 2011
Good morning friends! Hubby and I started our "baby prep" classes last night, and took infant CPR. So now I know how to save your life {if you happen to be very tiny and young}, but I'm also feeling in the baby spirit. If you have missed any of the nursery updates so far, you can read those here: design plan, part 1, part 2, and part 3, and part 4.
I realize I haven't talked much about the nursery in awhile, and I haven't really talked much about the bedding and fabric I intend to use in the room. I showed you this photo awhile back and gave you a glimpse of my plan.
I plan to use this pink and white Ticking Stripe as a curtain accent. I bought inexpensive white curtains at Ikea, and plan to doll them up a bit with this fabric.
I managed to hunt down this Waverly Bettina Matelasse in Clementine to create a slip cover for the rocker footstool. I found this really easy no-sew tutorial online, so while my mom is hard at work doing the "real sewing", I will glue my way toward this lovely end product. I also bought some extra yardage of this fabric in case we decide to make a pillow or two.
I know bumpers are a bit of a no-no once babies start squirming around in their crib, but I plan to have some anyways, just for the beginning stages.
I registered for the breathable bumpers, so once the little lady starts movin' around, those will be switched out. But this Waverly Lovely Lattice, in Jungle will help trim out my fancy bumper pads in the meantime.
Then finally, I selected this punchy floral pattern for the crib skirt, PKaufmann Boscobel, in Spring. The colors work perfectly with my other fabrics, and I really am excited about how the whole thing is coming together {thus far only in my mind}.
But my mom is coming out from MN in a couple weeks to help me with this project and general "nesting" - so I will be sure to show you how it all turns out! Happy Friday friends!

I LoooooooVE the crib skirt fabric! You're right, it looks great with the bumper fabric. Oh and good call on the breathables, best decision I made. I cannot wait to see how all the bedding and accessories look!
Love it! So pretty! Looking forward to the final reveal!
I thought your crib skirt fabric looked familiar! Love it! I bought a sample of that a couple of years ago when I considered it for my office curtains!! I adore the fabrics you chose!!
