I am at a bit of a loss when it comes to art for the Little Lady's nursery.  I had no problem conceptualizing the room, the rug, the crib, the wall color.  But now that I am at a point where I have to start thinking about art.  I don't need to purchase anything just yet, but I need to at least start thinking..I have a mental road block.

Like so much in the room so far, I want the art to be child appropriate, but perhaps not necessarily child-ish.  But I haven't quite figured out what that "means" just yet.  My first thought was to play off the rug, and go with something in pinks or purples, or perhaps floral-like?  But to be honest - it's really just a starting point.  Tomorrow it's equally likely that floral will be "out" and I will declare, "I want to clad the room in vintage postcards."

But I'm thinking, with a nice piece of art hanging in the room, my child will get some {decent} culture, and it will balance off the fact that I swear too much and listen to Ke$ha more than I should.

I started browsing art.com for some ideas, hoping that something would jump off the page and scream "buy me!"  Here are a few options I have come across so far.

Looking at the options, I'm still just not sure.  Any favorites, dear readers?  Any suggestions on how to find my way back from my art adventure?  I'm totally lost.

Shannon, check out www.oohmoon.com. She has the most amazing daily illustrations and they are free for 24 hours. Or, you can buy older series for a reasonable price!

Have you browsed Etsy? You could probably spend all day but I guarantee it will give you lots of ideas. Photography, drawings, abstracts, typography could all be interesting...

Ditto on Etsy. In addition, I'd recommend jen bekman's 20x200. (http://www.20x200.com/) for more offbeat original finds. Good luck!

Of the ones you posted, I have two very different favorites: Hydrangeas and Sweetness Overflowing.

@Angela - thanks for following my blog and weighing in on the choices. I still haven't figured out my art route yet, but I will definitely checkout that site you listed.

Thanks!
Shannon
