A long weekend

>> January 14, 2011

Hi friends!  Happy Friday to each of you!  For those that have Monday off, any big plans for the extra day?  I hope so.  Or I hope you have big plans for a lazy day, curling up and enjoying a good book.  With the snow day we had here in Boston this week, plus the day we have off coming up - it's feels like I only work part time.

{Ah, *sigh*.}

With the extra day off, Hubby and I are heading up to Vermont.  Partially to get away from the house, and all the projects that inevitably loom over your head when you find yourself at home.  But we are also getting away to see family.  My closest family {as in distance} lives in Vermont, a good 3.5+ hour drive.  We don't get to see them often as we would like, so a long weekend is the perfect excuse.

Weekends in Vermont seem slower - delightfully and deliciously slower.  I can't wait to explore, it's been a couple years since I visited.  I will try my best to take photos, if we do anything interesting.

This isn't their house - but Sarah Richardson's Cottage from HGTV.  I thought the photos were so lovely, and cottage feel reminds me of days in Vermont - completely surrounded by comfortable interiors that make you want to be calm and relax.

And this weekend also marks the 5 year anniversary of when Hubby proposed.  To read how it happened, check out my post from last year.  We went away for MLK weekend that year too.  {Because doesn't celebrating MLK just scream - romance!?}

If you have the day off - get out and enjoy!  I will be back on Tuesday when I settle in and unpack.  Happy weekend friends!
