After my vacation with the grandparents, I came back totally refreshed. But I also came back needing a slight diet jolt. I have always wanted to try making a breakfast smoothie - increase my daily fruit in take (I am not great about getting the proper amount), and break out of my cereal mold.
Within the past week, I have made this recipe 3 times - and not only is it tasty, but it's a great way to "shake" (oh, so bad) up breakfast - so I wanted to share with you all.
Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie
- 1 cup Vanilla soy milk (add more if you want yours a bit more thin)
- 1/2 cup quick cook oats
- 14 frozen strawberries (or any type of berry works great!)
- 1 banana, broken into pieces
The recipe calls for regular soy milk, vanilla extract and some sugar - but using vanilla soy milk works just as well, and makes it much quicker.
The Hubby loves this recipe too, and it will definitely be on our breakfast standby menu from now on!
