My new house, office revealed!

>> December 4, 2009

So I promised I would start showing you pictures of the new house, as things started to come together (or as I finally got decent photos taken, whichever came second).

So without further delay, here is the office!  Unfortunately, we forgot to take "before" shots, but no worries, you aren't missing anything.

This first one is standing in the doorway from our back hallway.  Not only does this serve as our office, but it is also my santuary for when Gossip Girl and Monday Night Football are on at the same time.  It also serves as the place where Hubby keep his clothes (old house = small closets).  The rug in this room is not here to stay, but I have other fish to fry at the moment. And for those who didn't believe I am MBA-official, note the massive diploma in the right corner of this photo.

So this picture is taken standing in front of the Hubby's closet.  We painted the cabinets white, changed out the hardware, painted the walls, changed out the light fixture, and added the blinds.  The room has a bit of a "men's den" feel, but that's ok, I have my own spaces I can dominate.

Finally, this photo is taken while standing in front of the bookshelf.  That's my desk where I blog (and am sitting as I write).  That's the hubby's closet, and the room door is just to the right, out of view. (And tucked in the corner is the Hubby's precious grass corner cover - which, if I am crafty enough, will one day magically disappear.)  The previous homeowners primarily left us with only major projects to tackle; however, they were kind enough to leave behind a vintage map of our new town, hung nicely in the corner.

So I wouldn't say this room is "complete;" I have issues with how the furniture is arranged, and some of the decor choices.  But given our other projects, it's taking function over form.  If you have any suggestions, please let me know!
