My new house, kitchen revealed!

Since I revealed my latest kitchen project yesterday, I might as well show you my kitchen.  If you read my blog at all, you know I have grand plans for a kitchen re-do one day.  But in the meantime, we have spruced up the kitchen a whole lot.

Here's the before (thanks to the previous homeowners):

Please notice the key lime flooring, which nicely matches the key-lime colored walls.  What you can't see is how they also painted the inset of our paneled doors in key lime.  How old is that fridge anyways??

Anyways, I digress.  Here is the after!

We painted the walls a soft gray, changed out the fridge, removed all the interior doors (and painted a fresh coat of white on the remaining ones).

We also used an inexpensive peel and stick tile from Home Depot to cover the old flooring.  It has a dark gray slate-like pattern, which is actually much better looking than the price suggests.  It's not the highest quality stuff, but again, we hope to do a major reno in the new few years, so this is areally a temporary fix that I can stand on a daily basis.  We also changed out the dishwasher to match the refridgerator.

Here's the entrance into the dining room, and clear evidence that I desperately need more counter space.  We have a couple more inexpensive plans: change out the faucet and spray nozzle and add a rug at the sink.  There is also a unfinished (why??) cabinet next to the microwave, where I would love an extra set of low shelves to house the microwave (get it off the counter), toaster oven and maybe a small wine fridge.  Maybe that can be a second addition to my "crafty" new years resolution?
